VectorMagic

VectorMagic is amazing. Basically, it’s a web app created by Stanford that takes raster images and vectorizes them, magically. The site/app also shows VectorMagic comparisons with Live Trace technology by Adobe and PowerTRACE from Corel. Of course it annihilates both of them. Simply upload an image, pick a few options and vectorize it. Then download an .eps file.

This makes vectorizing logos and pictures easy for people who aren’t Illustrator ninjas. Use it while you can. I imagine it’s just a matter of time before Stanford sells VectorMagic technology to either Corel or Adobe, making it only available with product purchase.

Drop.io

Check out drop.io for private file transfers up to 100 MB. It’s a great tool for privately sharing files, pictures, audio, etc. The agency I work for, space150, helped to build and develop it, though I had no part in the project. The best part is it’s totally free. Enjoy.
